While the principles of client development have not changed: you have to become visible and credible to your target market, build rapport and trust, get hired, get results and provide extraordinary service, the means of accomplishing the principles are changing every day. At the beginning of this decade: The Internet levels the playing field in many ways and gives young lawyers opportunities to become visible and credible to their target market like never before. Why? Clients are very busy. They want lawyers to tell them things they did not know and they want it to be timely. How can you take advantage? By seeing the potential legal minefields or opportunities before other lawyers, and even better before your target market, and then write or speak about it at just the very time your client needs to know about it using the Web opportunities above to distribute it. Just imagine if you blogged or did a podcast or webinar about something your clients did not know, but needed to know. All of a sudden you can become the âgo toâ lawyer to that group. And then just suppose that group found what you had written or spoken about so helpful that they sent the link to their friends in their industry. What an opportunity. Are you taking advantage of the Internet? How Long Should My Resume Be
To what extent Should My Resume Be This may simply be the No. 1 inquiry I am posed regarding resumes. Individuals assume that the length of a resume plays a key factor in whether the resume gets read. But actually continues once in a while get read, regardless of how short or long they are. In any event not completely. The length of your resume isn't whats generally significant. Whats most significant is the nature of the content. Most recruiting directors filter resumes, searching for explicit substance, for example, what your calling is, the thing that your abilities are, the place you have worked (and for to what extent), your activity titles and your instructive level. They will be keeping watch for any unexplained employment holes, over the top occupation bouncing and disconnected vocation progress. If the resume passes this underlying output, the recruiting chief will search for your achievements in past positions and decide how firmly adjusted these victories are to their associations future achievement. In the ev ent that any of this data is hard to rapidly spot on your resume, the peruser will likely quit perusing rapidly inside seconds. Some job seekers may have the option to bundle this data into a one-page continue. Others, especially those with longer profession chronicles or increasingly visit work changes, may require two pages. In the U.S. private-area advertise, the proposal is for the most part not to surpass two pages. On the off chance that there is something that is genuinely a significant piece of your work history, you dont need to need to hold up until page three or later to reference it.So how might you get the best quality data on only a couple of pages? Here are some suggestions.Use space creatively. Create a resume with edges somewhere in the range of .6 and 1.0 on all sides. This gives you adaptability with the manner in which the substance is spread out. Spot dates of work in a segment on the right-hand edge, as opposed to one side, to wipe out squandered space. In the e vent that you need more space on the page for content, consider spreading out one of different areas in a space sparing way. For instance, rather than focusing your contact data at the highest point of the resume and squandering 5 lines, place your name on the principal line and all your contact data in succession on the second line.Watch your textual style size. Font sizes of 10 or 11 by and large work best on resumes. Utilizing a littler text style can make the resume hard to peruse. However, on the off chance that you need more space, select a text style, for example, Ariel or Times New Roman, which both read very well in 10 point font.Use bolding to point out significant information. Consider setting organization names, dates, and employment titles in striking so they are simple for the peruser to spot. You can likewise utilize striking to get out key execution measurements, industry grants and other distinctions.Edit and afterward alter again. Resume writing is somewhat unique in relation to different types of composing. Every now and again words, for example, an and the can be excluded from the resume in light of the fact that these words are comprehended by the peruser, and the significance of the message isn't undermined by evacuating them. Peruse each sentence in your resume and check whether there is an approach to impart a similar data utilizing less words. Habitually in continue composing, less is more.Think even rather than vertical. Rather than making not insignificant arrangements of occupation aptitudes, language abilities, specialized capabilities, and so on., considering putting this data in a flat outline to utilize the space.Strive for balance. A a couple of page resume can look extraordinary. A resume that is one page loaded up with text and only three lines on a subsequent page looks odd as though youve come up short on comments. Either prune or extend your substance, edges, text styles, and dividing to get your resume down to an entire a couple of pages.

Facilitates the Process of Starting a Career in the Federal Government Facilitates the Process of Starting a Career in the Federal Government Facilitates the Process of Starting a Career in the Federal Government Facilitates the Process of Starting a Career in the Federal Government, July 10, 2010 By JD, USMC This Amazon.com audit is from: Military to Federal Career Guide, second Edition (Paperback) After 4+ years in the Marines I was prepared for a break and prepared to exploit the experience my military help gave me. Like all Marines (and I speculate other progressing Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard staff) I was made to experience a surged TAP/TAMP class on the most proficient method to escape the military and be fruitful as a non military personnel. After I was constrained through one more force point desensitizing arrangement of classes punctuated by mock meetings and regular citizen clothing examinations, and after I was intellectually getting ready to EAS; my unit was sent for 8 months. I returned home and left the Corps fourteen days in the wake of coming back to CONUS. I abhor long meandering audits so Ill attempt to get to the book. After I worked my way through school with the assistance of my GI Bill (that didnt pay almost the entirety of my instruction costs) I ended up coming up short on a genuine arrangement. I began investigating vocations in the Federal Government and was puzzled and disappointed by USAjobs, Army Resume Builder and all the opposition from those snot-nose kids whose guardians paid their way through school while I was appreciating MREs and filtered water in a spot whose name they never will mind to learn. I lucked out and unearthed an early run of the second version of this book after it came out at the NY Book Expo of America last May. I worked through the book and the CD and I found the procedure substantially more sensible. What made it simple were the example resumes from genuine military individual. I could utilize their resumes as a beginning stage for mine. Like them, I secured real positions on USAjobs and worked the language of the posting into my resume and introductory letter. At that point there are guidelines in the book on the most proficient method to present your resume and to what extent you can hope to hold up before you hear back. Moreover there are talk with tips and pointers on the most proficient method to catch up on submitted applications. 6 countries, hundreds of IT contracting opportunities - Viewpoint Viewpoint careers advice blog
6 countries, hundreds of IT contracting opportunities - Viewpoint Now youâve considered the key questions around contracting and looked at what youâll need to do to set-up on your own, you might be wondering where your first project is going to come from. For many, working with a recruitment consultant helps to keep them abreast of developments in the job market and saves them the difficult and time consuming task of finding companies recruiting for their role/skills at the right moment. At Hays we are differentiated from other IT recruitment companies by our huge international setup, which means we have strong relationships with multi-national employers and access to the best projects in the industry. Thatâs why many of the top contractors from around the world choose to work with us. To back up my claim I have asked some of our European consultants to highlight the key clients they are working with at the moment and the roles they are recruiting for, providing a wider insight into current market trends. So for the third part of this ITC Made Simple blog series Iâm going to defer to my colleagues, who are going to give you an insight into the opportunities available to you now. Hereâs whatâs going on in some of our key markets in Europe: 1. Poland Over the years Polish developers have built a strong reputation for themselves internationally. You can find Polish developers working in the UK, Germany, US, Canada, Australia and the Scandinavian countries (an upward trend over the last two years). Many international companies are also investing their RD budgets into Poland because of the technical, language (English but also increasingly German) and business skills of the workforce. As a result, Polish developers are in high demand and international companies will often offer students international internships in their first or second year of study in order to secure their services when they graduate. A multinational consumer goods company has recently opened an IT innovation centre in Warsaw to work on their most cutting edge projects and applications. They currently have a team of developers writing an app for iOS and android and we have supplied them with UX/UI contractors to work on the interface. The purpose of the app is to help the client launch one of their products into China for the first time and this is a unique opportunity for our contractors to participate in such a large scale project. Adding this project to their portfolio will open doors for them to the international market and after meeting them onsite recently I can tell you that they are all very excited about the opportunity. See what roles we currently have available via Hays Poland here. 2. Czech Republic The greatest concentration of contractors in the Czech Republic is in Prague and Brno. In the regions, the range of IT services on offer is limited to a certain extent, and costs are increased by money needed for relocation or commuting. Contractorsâ willingness to relocate within the Czech Republic is relatively low, however, using a home office is an alternative. The technologies currently most in demand on the job market include Java, .NET, PHP, C++ and mobile apps. By contrast, there is declining demand for Python, C, Flex, Delphi, SAP and Perl. With regard to Hays projects, we have a strong relationship with a global telecoms company and we are currently supplying them with Java developers. As well as working on an existing web application to do some minor UI tweaks and functionality extensions on existing code, we are also working on a new system for them. This new system will be a replacement for an existing zoo of batch scripts. It consists of two separate parts: a web interface for manual data processing and the batch application itself. The frameworks used include spring, spring batch and spring integration for the batch part of the app and Primefaces/JSF2 for the web part. Apache commons is used for everything else and Java 8 is the programming language for the project. If youâre a Java developer looking to work with cutting edge technology this would be the project for you. See what roles we currently have available via Hays Czech Republic here. 3. The Netherlands The big news in The Netherlands IT Contracting market is the new DBA regulation which came into effect in May 2016. This cracked down on companies hiring people on a contractor basis (meaning they did not have to pay labour taxes to the government) but treating them as a de facto perm employee. This has naturally created some nervousness to hire from companies as they donât want to be caught out by the new regulations. However, the IT Contracting market in The Netherlands is still a vibrant one and we are still seeing exciting projects come through the door. A major client of ours is a global semiconductor manufacturing company with whom we have a MSP to provide their contractors. We provide them with a number of Linux developers, which the companyâs infrastructure systems and restricted security area works on. The engineers that work in this environment are developing their next generation products such as chips that will go into the latest Tesla cars. What sets this company apart is that they are always ready to adapt to new technologies â" which is unusual in very large organisations. They were the first company to migrate a secure area to the cloud through Amazon Web Services and we found them one of the ten Amazon team members who built the technology originally. With the ability to create custom add-ons and a true expert onboard the possibilities were endless. You know projects must be exciting when we have contractors call to thank us for placing them with the company! See what roles we currently have available via Hays Netherlands here. 4. Luxembourg The ITC market in Luxembourg is principally driven by two sectors Finance (with roughly 45 per cent market share) and the European Public Sector (35 per cent market share). The other 20 per cent is primarily made up of companies from the Telecoms, Energy and Industrial sectors. There are four key trends within the market: 1) Application projects driven by digitization, paperless working and data-management trends (BI and Big-Data) 2) Financial Regulatory projects including banking transformation due to regulation (e.g. Mifid, Fatca, EMIR and Prybs) 3) IT infrastructure outsourcing: Luxembourg is one of top countries for datacenters with powerful players in the market (IBM, EbRC or CSC) and multiple âTier IVâ datacentres 4) Security and risk control consulting focused on control and governance. The ITC market in Luxembourg is relatively immature compared to its larger neighbors but growing liberalisation of the economy is opening up more opportunities for ambitious contractors. Looking to our own experience in the ITC market, a consulting project for a law firm is an interesting assignment weâve taken on recently. The company was moving buildings and the CIO had a â¬5m budget for this project and to change all IT infrastructure including new laptops, PCs, servers etc. He needed assistance with managing this big project and we recruited two consultants to help. The first consultant helped in the project kick-off, doing an audit of the current IT infrastructure and working out what needed to be done. They then created an RFP to go out to the market with and helped the client negotiate with providers. As a result â¬2m was saved on the budget. We then hired a second consultant to manage the project itself. This was an unusual arrangement as our end fee was linked to the savings we helped the client to get. The client completed the project to time, cost and spec so needless to say we felt the benefit as well! See what roles we currently have available by Hays Luxembourg here. 5. Denmark From a recruitment perspective, in the IT contracting market in Denmark we have seen a growth in the number of candidates with an international profile. Danish companies (especially large corporations) are now more willing to look outside of the country to find the specialists they need to complete their high priority projects. We have seen this particularly with regard to senior SAP roles where companies have been willing to swallow the costs of relocation packages etc. to secure talent that is in high-demand globally. This is illustrated in a recent project with one of our key clients. A year ago we had zero contractors at this global manufacturer now we are working with them as a trusted advisor on their technology projects. Initially they called us to find a Program Manager for a massive project with a team of over 250 people â" we placed the perfect candidate within a week! The project in question, focused on setting-up a new BI platform for the company with a holistic view of their data, had been going on for three years and was stalling due its size and complexity. The incoming Program Manager restructured the program and switched up the resources â" we also helped to find some new people to help flesh out the project. Having only completed one-third of the project in three years, the revamped team completed a further two-thirds within one year, and the project is due to be completed very shortly. Because we, and of course our contractors, were able to deliver we are now working with the client on a strategic level and helping to staff their upcoming projects a perfect win-win situation. Typical roles recruited for included SAP BI/BW/BO Consultants, Project Managers, Scrum Master BI Environment and SAP Audit Consultants for the BW Landscape. We really had to utilize our international network to identify the right people and a lot of the consultants came from the UK, Germany and Poland. Our strong relationships with our contractors also helped as they were able to recommend colleagues from previous projects and advised them to work with us. Our international reach is a competitive advantage of ours as we can guarantee to clients that weâll find them the right people and we can offer our contractors a wide range of exciting projects. See what roles we currently have available via Hays Denmark here. 6. Italy The IT Contracting market in Italy is mainly concentrated in the north, particularly Milan, but Rome also offers interesting opportunities. Although the market is not as developed as some northern neighbours such as Germany, Denmark and The Netherlands, there are still plenty of meaty projects for Italian contractors to cut their teeth on. Java and .NET developers are always in high demand and there is also strong demand for contractors with experience in web and front-end technologies like PHP, JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML5 and CSS. We have seen a number of client projects at Hays looking at building dynamic web applications. Working with a famous business directory, we have supplied them with Senior Web Developers, Mobile Developers (iOS and Android) and Java Experts to work on their IT projects. The most interesting project at the company was creating a service similar to Google Maps but focused on businesses. The Java guys were involved in building the algorithm to find the best routes between starting locations and local companies etc. The application was also developed for mobile devices and our iOS and Android Developers have contributed to the creation of the whole mobile architecture definitely a great project to have on your CV. See what roles we currently have available via Hays Italy here. How should you manage yourself when actually on site with a client organisation after winning a contract? Thatâs what Iâll be discussing next time in my ITC Made Simple blog. But for now I wish you all the best in your project hunt! Hopefully you found this blog useful. Be that as it may, after a month, that sensation is no more. Presently it's only a car. This satiation, known as decadent adjustment, happens for almost everything that fulfills us. Glance around and consider the amount you at first delighted in the things that encompass you. At that point consider the amount you appreciate them today.Wouldn't it be extraordinary to get a portion of that underlying happiness back?In a progression of studies destined to be distributed in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, we found that devouring things in capricious manners upgrades delight in them. This is the place chopsticks come in.The craft of paying attentionIn one examination, we requested that 68 members eat some popcorn . While half were advised to eat the ordinary way, each part in turn, the rest utilized chopsticks. We found that the individuals who ate with chopsticks delighted in the popcorn significantly more than the others, despite the fact that the two gatherings were advised to eat at the equivalent moderate pace. This is a result of something notable to therapists: When something appears to be new, individuals give more consideration to it. Furthermore, when individuals give more consideration to something agreeable, they will in general appreciate it more. This is the reason numerous individuals look for such a great amount of assortment in what they devour. We purchase something and use it for some time until it gets comfortable and commonplace, at that point we purchase something different reasoning it will satisfy us. Lamentably, this substitution is expensive, and, in cases, for example, houses and companions, at times an exceptionally extraordinary choice in light of unavoidable famil iarity. Our research recommends another alternative: Instead of supplanting something once you become ill of it, take a stab at devouring it or associating with it in capricious ways.In another analysis, we contemplated 300 individuals as they expended water.First, we requested that members think of their own whimsical approaches to expend water. Their reactions extended from drinking out of a martini glass or travel mug to lapping it up like a feline. One even proposed drinking water out of a transportation envelope. They were then advised to take five tastes of water and rate their pleasure after each drink. A third did as such in the ordinary way, another third tasted utilizing one of their own haphazardly picked offbeat techniques again and again and the rest utilized an alternate unusual strategy for each sip.We found that individuals who savored water an alternate way every time making the most of their water the most â" with significantly greater lifts close to the furthest li mit of the trial. As it were, their happiness didn't decay after some time. While every other person appreciated the water less for each taste, the individuals who savored it various ways didn't show this typical example of declining enjoyment. This presents an uncommon answer for the about all inclusive marvel of satiation, or the declining pleasure that accompanies nature. For whatever length of time that you can discover new and fascinating approaches to associate with something, you may never become worn out on it.Business opportunitiesThis thought isn't altogether novel, obviously. Numerous organizations are as of now exploiting this idea to give increasingly pleasant encounters to customers.Restaurants exist where burger joints eat while lying in beds, while drifting in the sky and off of bare models. There is even an eatery where coffee shops eat naked. The Reddit page WeWantPlates presents a rich inventory of the numerous innovative and confounding ways that eateries serve the ir clients food, from nachos in a sink to ravioli on a washing line. While there is no restriction to the various approaches to introduce old news, sooner or later the oddity typically wears off. Our examination recommends this is a botched chance for organizations to offer more assortment in how a solitary food is consumed. For model, when individuals eat a couple of cuts of pizza at a café, they regularly expend them all similarly. It's an issue if individuals make the most of their last cut less in view of satiation, on the grounds that our memory for encounters is molded vigorously by what occurred at the end.Rather than killing all the lights to make eating progressively charming, as in obscurity feasting pattern, pizza parlors could urge their clients to eat each cut in an alternate manner, for example, typically, collapsed down the middle, in reverse, with a fork and blade, with chopsticks or while blindfolded. On the off chance that they did, we accept they would almost certa inly find that their clients make the most of their last cut as much as the first. The main concern is monotony wears on the soul, in what we do as well as how we do it. Realizing this can support the two organizations and clients boost enjoyment.Robert W. It starts by default from 0 and stops before 5, as defined.range(start, stop): In this, point of starting as well as stopping is defined. Almost every stream that you put in Python is a sequence.Types of SequencesListsTuplesXrangeStringSome of the sequences that Python supports are strings, lists, tuples and Xrange objects. Python has a bevy of methods and formatting operations that it can perform on each of these.ListA list is a sort of container that holds a number of other objects, in a given order. The list type implements the sequence protocol, and it also allows you to add and remove objects from the sequence. It is an ordered set of elements enclosed in square brackets.Simple definition of list li = []li = list() # empty list li = list(sequence) li = list(expression for variable in sequence)Accessing List ElementsTo access the elements of a list:n = len(li) item = li[index] #Indexing slice = li[start:stop] #SlicingExampleList Indexinglist[i] returns the value at index i, where i is an integer. A negative index accesses elements from the end of the list counting backwards. The last element of any non-empty list is always li[-1]. Python raises an IndexError exception, if the index is outside the list.Got a question for us?? This is the place things get fascinating. For Williams' situation, huge numbers of the aptitudes she created as an entertainer apply straightforwardly to helping to establish an innovation organization. Hello Phone My Old Friend
Hello Phone My Old Friend Itâs a funny recruitment world we live in these days. Funny, in that so many new consultants (and to be fair the managers who teach them) have grown up in a world dominated by email, and online recruitment systems. Funny, for those of us who grew up in a world of desk phones, private incoming phone lines, and fax machines. When I talk like this I feel really old, but in lots of ways, I feel sad too. Itâs not nostalgia that makes me feel this way. I feel sad for the solid sales skills that are being lost, the confidence-building practices that are disappearing and the influence and persuasion skills that arenât being learned. Gone are the niceties of speaking with people. Gone is the ability to understand, influence and sell. Gone is the opportunity to differentiate and build real relationships with clients. Goneâ¦. Hang on a minute. Thatâs not true. None of these things are gone at all, they are just not being used as well, or as often. I have a really simple view on this. Email is great and has many, many advantages over the now antiquated technologies of post and fax. Itâs fast, it is effective, it is cheap. It is not a replacement for the telephone, and it is certainly not a means to have a real conversation. And please donât get me started on using it as a cold calling alternativeâ¦â¦ When I was a very new consultant, I was sent to meet one of the companyâs top billing temps consultants and he taught me a very simple lesson. He said âlisten, itâs really simple. You pick up the phone, and money comes out of itâ. You pick up the phone, and money comes out of it. Was there ever a statement, so well put, so simple or so true. Phone skills are an incredibly important part of a consultants skills toolkit. In my mind, they should be the first skills taught. Learn to love the phone. Use it as a means of introduction, a door opener, use it to keep in touch with people, use it build relationships. Use it whenever the urge comes to email. The best tool for the job is the best tool for the job. Before you reach for a keyboard, please stop and think. What is the best way to achieve what I want to achieve? If itâs the phone, pick it up. If itâs the keyboard, then go ahead. But, be honest with yourself. Are you typing to avoid having to call? And, if so, whatâs stopping you? When I walk into one of my clientâs offices and all I can hear is people talking on the phone, invariably the fee boards on the walls look very healthy too. When I walk into a clientâs office and all I can hear is clicking on keyboards, the fee boards are often empty too. Co-incidence? Of course not. Stress May Test You, But It Doesnt Have To Taunt You
Stress May Test You, But It Doesnt Have To Taunt You In todayâs business world, itâs not enough to simply be busy. We have to be doing the right things in the right order all while showing the alignment between our individual output, and the goals of our teams and wider organizations. So, when stress rears its head, as it inevitably will do, we must find ways to curb it, if not totally kick it to the curb, in order to maintain the consistent levels of effectiveness that fuel our careers and the faith that our stakeholders have in our abilities. Imagine you have a handful of priorities that need to be addressed in the next hour. If one of those priorities had the power to completely derail the other priorities if you didnât manage it properly, youâd surely give it the attention it needs, right? Well, that priority is stress. You might not write it on a sticky note, but to keep it in check you have to manage it just like you would any other project on your to-do list. Thereâs no magic system where you can turn the productivity dial up and turn the stress dial down, but there are a few ways to develop your self-awareness and resilience to keep the weight of stress from becoming overwhelming. Stress tests us, but it doesnât have to taunt us. Hereâs what I recommend to keep stress in check. Recognize your individual stress signals Thereâs nothing worse than being blindsided by something you couldâve seen coming if you had just kept an eye out for it and stress is definitely the type of thing that can sneak up on you. Because we all have different strengths, weaknesses and interpersonal styles, stress looks different for every person just as productivity does. During times of stress, even our strengths (when overused) can do us a disservice. For instance, a sociable and inclusive extrovert may talk over people and become overbearing when they are stressed. Similarly, a reserved and thoughtful introvert may become even more inwardly-focused and may seem standoff-ish when they are stressed. Itâs different for each person, but if you know how you show up on good days and bad days, you can see the stress signs coming and side-step your typical bad-day behaviors before it becomes a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Donât try to be everything to everyone The best way individuals can support their careers, teams, and organizations is by knowing and showing their authentic selves. Sometimes we stress ourselves unnecessarily because we try to be everything to everyone, which is a futile and exhausting task. While this dynamic can come from the good intention of wanting to please all of our stakeholders, it can quickly get individuals into a situation where they over promise and under deliver. Instead of being everything to everyone, it is better to be the best version of yourself to the people who need you to be you. At Insights, we believe understanding our individual personalities on a deeper level can empower us to navigate our responsibilities and relationships more easily. We know that anyone can do anything, but we also know that if youâre constantly stretching yourself in areas that donât come naturally to you rather than sashaying to the sound of your strengths, youâll get tired and stressed very quickly. Prioritize and progress the right tasks by checking your perceptions In our professional lives, weâre all accountable to get things done, but it is how we perceive what is needed of us and how we think we should get it done that impacts our ability to do so. Stress can strike when youâre caring about the wrong things and theyâre getting in the way of your ability to get the right things done. To not get trapped in an endless cycle of activities that arenât aligned to desired results, you have to know yourself and whatâs required of you. To help, try taking some time to check what youâre perceiving in the context surrounding a project. For instance, ask yourself what biases could I be bringing to this task that could be hindering my productivity? Is there anything Iâm assuming has to be a certain way when it really doesnâtâ? By looking at your workload through this lens, you can develop strategies to work smarter, not harder. Stress is one of those facts of life and regardless of where you are in your career, and what capabilities and competencies you have acquired, the ability to manage stress can always benefit your professional life. Irish author C.S. Lewis wrote, âItâs not the load that breaks you down, itâs the way you carry it.â Ultimately, your ability to boost productivity and curb stress is about making space to understand yourself and being intentional in all that you do. 5 Elevator Pitches That Pique the Curiosity - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career
5 Elevator Pitches That Pique the Curiosity - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Youre at that pivotal point in your entrepreneurial journey. Its time to secure an investor. Youre ready to take the next step, and want to partner with a business minded person who understands your specific needs. You managed to peak the interest of several big name money makers, and its time to move on to level two. Perfect your pitch with these lead ins that kickstart your forward moving conversation. I hate sales pitches. Want to totally relieve that awkward, oh no, Im about to get pitched feeling? Start off with this statement. It keeps everything honest and transparent. This shows vulnerability, which will increase trust in your proposal. Let me buy you a drink. Then well talk business. Dont be uber serious. Avoid preparing a ten page report detailing out why people should invest in your next level concept. The stuffier you are, the less chance you have of acquiring crucial financing. It doesnt have to be a drink. Im not saying you cant negotiate without alcohol. Take them out for ice cream, waffles, ribs whatever works. But commit to a casual, sit down conversation. Pay close attention, this is kind of a next level concept. This phrase challenges your listener, but in a healthy way. It forces them to focus on what youre saying. Why? Because they want to prove that theyre not outside your realm of thinking. They want to be a part of the smart kids club. Who doesnt want contribute to the next big thing? When the dust settles, your investors want to associate with something that gains public attention and traction. I havent told anyone else this but Make people feel like youre about to let them in on an exclusive secret. This phrase builds anticipation and listener loyalty. For example, lets say youre a big time angel investor. Im about to pitch you the next big business idea. How would you feel if you knew youre the 57th person to hear this pitch? Probably a bit annoyed. But, how would you feel if you were one of the first people to hear about this new concept? Pretty freaking awesome. See my point? Make your listener feel special with this go-to lead in. I really need your feedback on this idea. Include them in your brainstorming and creative development process. Most of the time, investors want to be involved in your business growth. They want to have a say in your direction, and influence your decisions for the better. The more specific you get, the better. For example, instead of asking them for their general opinion, get a bit more granular. Say, Do you think I should be taking route X for Q1 or route Y? This proves how much you value their opinion. These statements are sure to peak the curiosity of even the most stuffy, too cool for school investors.

Tips on How to Place Your CPR Certification on Resume
Tips on How to Place Your CPR Certification on ResumeOnce you have achieved a CPR certification, you will be in the higher echelon of employers when you apply for any job, including on resume. Because of this, it is important to understand the differences between your certification and how it is included on resume. The purpose of this resume should be to create the impression that you are qualified for the position. The resume should cover all your educational background including your CCRP certification. However, what is often forgotten is the certification itself. Because the CPR certification is a distinct designation and a much different thing from the CPR that you received from your certification training, the placement of the certification in the resume should be done differently. As a general rule, for a prospective employer to consider you for a position they must see that you have a CPR certification. A piece of paper on your wall or at your job does not provide them with the proof that they need. They will have to see that you received the certification in order to accept you as a candidate. It may be in your letter of intent or on a list of credentials at your current job. Regardless of the way it is presented, the certification must be clearly highlighted in your resume. Most employers do not require a CPR certification in order to fill a position, so you must convince them that you are a good candidate based on your skills and experience. After all, you will likely not know if the position that you are applying for requires the certification until after they have contacted you. This is the very reason that the placement of the certification on resume is so important. If they see that you have received the certification they will have a more positive opinion of you and they may even ask you about your certification. Although they will not usually ask for proof, they may ask to see it.Another reason why it is important to show off your certification res ume is that most employers prefer to offer positions to applicants that have a certificate and do not have to show it. Many employers feel that a person with a certification that is not readily available should not be given a chance to prove themselves. Also, they will feel that a person without a certification is an open book and does not want to spend time proving themselves. You can see that the ability to demonstrate your qualifications, both in your education and in your certification is important. When your CPR certification is on resume, it will show that you have earned that credential. Also, this will help you stand out from other applicants who do not have it. Even though it is a certification, it is important to place it high on your resume so that employers will see your work experience and skills and see that you can perform the duties required to provide care for a victim of an emergency situation. As a result, your credentials will stand out. It will also help you avoi d being overlooked by other candidates who have not received a CPR certification.Because you will be receiving more offers for positions you apply for in the future, you want to make sure that you include this certification on resume. Most employers will not hire someone without a CPR certification. Even if they do not require it in the application process, they are more likely to inquire about it once you are formally offered the position. Therefore, the certification on resume is your ticket to future employment. The knowledge that you will be providing CPR certification should be on the resume. The placement of the certification on resume should be clearly highlighted in the document. That way, when employers contact you they will see the certification as a verification of your skills and experience.

Marketing continues to become increasingly digitized, and digital marketers are the leaders driving this constant evolution. For any college student dreaming of becoming a pro marketer, keep in mind that the following four identities will ensure the start to a successful career in marketing. Social Butterfly Digital marketers are social creatures who possess the charisma to draw in clients and consumers using all forms of communication. From promoting a sweepstakes on Facebook to driving an Instagram campaign, the social nature of marketing is digitally versatile. Digital marketers are also social soldiers deep in the trenches of social media, especially because social media is driving revenue. Social media has generated revenue for one in five B2B marketers and one in three B2C marketers, according to the 2014 State of Digital Marketing report released by Webmarketing123. Social media platforms are money-makers with analytic capabilities that marketers can rely on to gauge performance. Engaging marketers strategically maximize these social platforms by generating online conversations, branding posts and tweets, offering unique information, and building interpersonal relationships. Creative Visionary Eye-catching and persuasive visual content enhances and brands digital marketing strategies. A powerhouse digital marketer can create and promote images, graphics and video that are viewable and shareable. The Digital Marketers Diane S. Thieke, a public relations pro, emphasizes that marketers cant ignore the impact of visual learning, especially on visually marketable sites such as Instagram and Pinterest. Your specialization is in Internet marketing, not graphic design, but a marketer can still learn how to use a collection of tools to help generate more visually appealing content into strategies and campaigns. Develop your visual content skill set with the following tools: Adobe Photoshop to manipulate images that meet marketing needs and visions SnagIt to screenshot images for presentations and tutorials Commercial photo sources for content images (e.g. Getty Images, bigstockphotos, Flickr, PhotoPin, and Creative Commons) PicMonkey or Pixlr to edit and enhance images using cropping, filters, borders, and theme options With an arsenal of image tools, marketers can share a company event photo or an infographic on Google+, Youtube or a slideshow for a conference. Content Master Digital marketers will be visual and word experts. A company blog or product descriptions need to be frequently updated, fresh, superior-quality, and optimized. Digital marketing and Internet marketing are complementary. Active websites and blogs with creative, relevant content that meets SEO standards will boost rankings on search engines and increase credibility. The 2014 State of Digital Marketing Report adds that more than 63 percent of marketers will increase content spending; hence, content still remains king. As a content master, a marketer will craft a wide range of messages that are: Searchable Focused Fresh Valuable Shareable Relevant Quick witted and catchy Researched Original Mobile Enthusiast Along with content spending, mobile spending is also projected to increase insomuch that three in four marketers intend to spend more on mobile for 2014, as the State of Digital Marketing Report highlights. Consumers rely on their smartphones and tablets for all types of information in real time. The digital marketing and SEO-savvy iAcquire staff puts it this way: without a mobile strategy, money is leaking out of your pockets and right into someone elses. In the blog post An Unapologetic Update on Mobile SEO, iAcquire reports that by 2014, its estimated 50 percent of Web traffic will be mobile. SearchEnginePeople.com also emphasizes that mobile marketing has the following advantages: Elicits purchases Improves local SEO Reaches customers constantly connected to mobile Internet Impacts users through responsive Web design Expect to deliver messages and promote campaigns that reach the mobile customer through an app, email, text message, or social network.
